  • The Organic Geochemistry Laboratory (OGL) at UIC was established by Professor Fabien Kenig to study organic matter in order to solve questions of astrobiological, geological, oceanographical, as well as forensic and environmental relevance.
  • The OGL is equipped to isolate, quantify and identify  organic matter and lipids from living organisms, modern and ancient sediments as well as water and fossil fuel.
  • This laboratory serves both undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral researchers willing to get involved in a professional research environment.
